Cork Airport — April 14, 2025 — Cork Airport, Ireland’s fastest-growing airport, has officially launched its 2025 Summer Schedule, featuring 2.75 million seats on sale on over 50 routes, operated by nine airlines. The extensive summer schedule was launched by Tom Randles, incoming President of the Irish Travel Agents Association and managing director of Barter’s Travelnet, at an event in Cork city centre which was attended by members of the travel trade, civic and business representatives, airline and airport stakeholders, tourism bodies, along with local, regional, and national media.
The highlight of this year’s summer schedule is the addition of four new summer routes – Bilbao and Bordeaux, both operated by Aer Lingus; a new Greek island service to Corfu operated by TUI and a new service to Izmir, which is the airport’s first scheduled connection with Türkiye, and will be operated by SunExpress. With the new service to Bilbao starting later this week, Aer Lingus will begin their Cork – Bordeaux service on May 15. TUI will start their Corfu service on May 9 while SunExpress will begin flying to Izmir from Cork for the very first time on May 31.
Ryanair will operate a total of 33 routes from Cork Airport this summer, including additional frequencies on no less than 14 routes – including Alicante (6pw), Barcelona (3pw), Edinburgh (9pw), Gdansk (3pw), Girona (4pw), Liverpool (5pw), Malaga (9pw), Manchester (13pw), Palma de Mallorca (7pw), Paris Beauvais (5pw), Reus (7pw), Seville (3pw) and Valencia (5pw). Ryanair has extended the operation of their popular Fuerteventura service (1pw), which is now served year-round from Cork Airport. In total, Ryanair’s passenger traffic this summer is expected to grow by an estimated 21% compared with last summer.
Along with two new summer routes to Bilbao and Bordeaux, Aer Lingus will operate daily services to the popular sun destinations of Malaga and Faro. Aer Lingus’ seasonal service to Palma de Mallorca (5pw) started earlier than normal this year, while the Dubrovnik service (2pw) recommences on May 3. Aer Lingus will maintain key European hub connectivity with their four-times daily service to London-Heathrow, with onward connectivity to the four corners of the world with the wider British Airways network. Aer Lingus Regional will fly a daily service to Bristol (twice-daily on Friday and Sunday) and a four-times weekly service to Glasgow. In total, Aer Lingus/Aer Lingus Regional will operate 11 services from Cork Airport this summer season.
The excellent connectivity from some of Europe’s largest airlines will continue, with Air France having returned to Cork Airport even earlier this year (on March 3). At its peak, the French flag carrier will operate a daily service to Paris Charles de Gaulle, with twice-daily services on Monday and Saturday later in the summer. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will maintain their twice-daily services to Amsterdam Schiphol, with onward connections to over 150 worldwide destinations. Thanks to increased demand for their popular Cork – Frankfurt service, Lufthansa will operate a four-times weekly service with a new Wednesday service added this summer. As of last week, Lufthansa has started to use larger aircraft on the Frankfurt route, testament to the demand in the market for this service. SWISS International Air Lines will fly twice weekly to Zurich at its peak.
Along with their well-served sun services to Palma de Mallorca, Lanzarote and Reus, TUI will operate their new weekly service to the Greek island of Corfu, starting on May 9. A new airline livery will be visible at Cork Airport for the first time this summer with SunExpress joining the wide portfolio of airlines operating at Ireland’s fastest growing airport. Following high demand for a direct service to Türkiye, SunExpress will begin flying to Izmir on May 31, with the service operating twice weekly.
Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Summer Schedule, Head of Aviation Business Development & Communications, Tara Finn said: “People from Galway across to Wicklow and everywhere in between are looking for alternative travel options and an easier travel experience.
