Cork Airport — April 30, 2024 — Cork Airport is set to welcome over 50,000 passengers this May Bank Holiday Weekend. As the first month of summer, the weekend ahead will see tens of thousands of passengers taking off on weekend breaks to cities across the UK and Europe, while thousands of others will take the opportunity to jet off to the sun in southern Europe. It will also be a busy weekend for an influx of inbound visitors to the South of Ireland.

May heralds in the start of the busy summer travel period, as post-primary schools break for summer holidays at the end of the month. Ryanair will increase frequencies on services to Alicante, Poznan, and Valencia. Aer Lingus will recommence two seasonal services, with the twice-weekly service to Dubrovnik and three times-weekly service to Palma de Mallorca starting on Wednesday, May 1. Both services will operate through to September.

Barry Holland, Communications Manager at Cork Airport said: “As the May Bank Holiday weekend beckons, it’s easy to see that summer is just around the corner. This week, we welcome the resumption of Aer Lingus' summer services to Dubrovnik and Palma de Mallorca. Ahead of a busy bank holiday weekend, we recommend passengers arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before their flight and to prebook their carparking on corkairport.com. For passengers intending to travel over the summer months, I’d strongly recommended to prebook car parking online at corkairport.com, where the best value and rates can be found across all three car parks.”
