Cork Airport is set for one of its busiest weekends of the year, with more than 45,000 passengers expected to travel through Ireland’s second largest and best connected international airport this October Bank Holiday Weekend.

The busiest day for the airport will be Thursday, October 25, corresponding with the opening of the 2018 Cork Jazz Festival. In total, 328 flights will arrive and depart over the weekend, which will include two new routes.

Aer Lingus’ Cork to Lisbon service commences Friday, October 26 and Ryanair’s new five-times weekly service to London Luton Airport begins Sunday, October 28.

Kevin Cullinane, Head of Communications at Cork Airport, said: "We are preparing for another busy October Bank Holiday weekend, as thousands arrive into Cork for the iconic Jazz Festival.

“For those flying out of Cork this weekend for an autumn break, there are excellent destinations to choose from, including our two new routes to Lisbon and London Luton, along with the flexibility and convenience that the airport offers to all passengers.”

Passengers planning to travel out of Cork Airport are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to their flight to avoid any unnecessary delays. It’s also advised to go directly to the security screening area once checked in.

Passengers flying on Sunday, October 28 are reminded of Daylight Saving Time with clocks set to go back one hour.

Ryanair recently announced four new services for 2019 from Cork Airport - Naples, Poznań, Budapest and Malta.

Cork Airport is forecasting growth of 4% in 2018, with even more scheduled flights to be announced shortly, bringing to over 50 the destinations that will be operated by the nine airlines flying from Cork Airport next year.
