Cork Airport is preparing for a busy October Bank Holiday weekend, as 42,000 passengers are expected to travel through the Gateway to the South of Ireland between Thursday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

With nearly 8,000 passengers arriving before the Cork Jazz Festival alone, Cork Airport is looking forward to getting passengers and music lovers alike in to the swing of things with live jazz music in the Arrivals Hall.

Cork Airport’s Head of Communications, Kevin Cullinane said: “The October Bank Holiday weekend is particularly special for Cork and the wider region. Not only does the annual Cork Jazz Festival attract thousands of overseas visitors to the region, Cork Airport’s excellent proximity to Ireland’s Ancient East and Wild Atlantic Way provides travellers from across the UK, Europe and the United States the opportunity of an Irish Halloween break before the Christmas period.

“In preparation for an extra busy travel period ahead, Cork Airport is aware of our role as one of the first Irish experiences overseas visitors encounter. Thursday and Sunday will be the busiest days for travel to and from Cork Airport, with nearly 8,000 passengers expected each day. Passengers will also be able to enjoy Cork Airport’s recently revamped food and beverage offerings in Arrivals and Departures.
