Please be advised that the resurfacing works are now completed ahead of schedule on the R600 from the Airport to Fivemilebridge and the road is now permanently open again.

The road works will be carried out from Thursday July 14 to Friday July 29 inclusive.
Drainage works are being completed under a “STOP/GO” flagman traffic management system from Thursday July 14 - Monday July 18 from 8.00am - 6.00pm.
Road resurfacing works will be carried out from Monday July 18 - Friday July 29.
From Monday July 18 - Friday July 22 the resurfacing works will be carried out under a “STOP/GO” flagman traffic management system from 8.00am - 6.00pm.
From Monday July 25 - Friday July 29 a FULL 24HR ROAD CLOSURE will apply from the Airport roundabout to Fivemilebridge save for local access only to facilitate the laying of the final layer of hot rolled asphalt. A diversion route will be from the Farmers Cross roundabout at the entrance to the airport to Ballygarvan via the L2463 and from Ballygarvan to Fivemilebridge junction via the R613 and back onto the R600 again. From the Fivemilebridge direction traffic can either come as far as Bowens Cross on the R600 and divert to Ballygarvan or go directly to Ballygarvan from Fivemilebridge. From Ballygarvan traffic will turn left onto the L2463 and back to Farmers Cross Roundabout at the airport entrance. Click here to see diversion route in traffic management plan.
Alternatively from West Cork direction, airport traffic can travel directly to Cork via the N71 onto the N40 South Link Rd, turning off at the Kinsale Rd Roundabout onto the N27 Airport Rd and onto the airport.
We will be placing signage on the following roads to highlight the roadworks in advance from Monday July 18.
- 1 on N71 between the Half-Way Roundabout and the turn-off for Ballinhassig/Airport/Carrigaline road.
- 1 on R600 Approaching Fivemilebridge from Kinsale side.
- 2 on N27 Airport road from Bull McCabes Bar to Farmers Cross Roundabout at airport entrance.
