We’ve launched a brand new mobile friendly Cork Airport website.
Today sees the launch of a brand new website for Cork Airport replacing a site that has been in use since 2010.
The website has been redesigned to make it more user friendly and to feature more prominently the range of available destinations from Cork Airport. The design approach focused on creating a website that utilised clean modern design and offered an improved experience for the user.
The new site is also a responsive site, which means it has also been designed for use on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
“This new Cork Airport site reflects the desire to create a hugely improved resource for all the airport’s customers. The fact that the site is now responsive, so fully functional on mobile devices, is a huge step forward and one that reflects the increasing importance of mobile platforms for today’s travellers,” said Kevin Cullinane, Cork Airport’s Head of Communications.
“With the design, we’ve looked to feature the range of destinations from the airport in a unique series of destination guides. The new homepage also enhances the prominence of our car parking offer in addition to our Twitter and Facebook feeds. And the site is much easier to use for customers flying from or arriving at Cork Airport along with anyone meeting and greeting passengers,” he added.
The website has also been designed to meet the different needs of Cork Airport’s many regional stakeholders. Information directed at people other than intending passengers has been organised into the easy to navigate website with a comprehensive sitemap in the footer.
Airlines, media, advertisers, tourism partners and regional stakeholders have all been catered for with easy access to relevant information about business development opportunities at the airport.
“Cork Airport prides itself on its multiple award winning customer service and fly-friendly passenger experience. We wanted to greet our passengers and other regional stakeholders with easily accessible information. Our new website design meets that objective. It also allows us to present our extensive and growing route network and destinations in an exciting and inspiring way,” said Mr Cullinane.
“The new Cork Airport website will also serve as a platform for the further development of the website into 2016 and beyond. We are already planning the next phase with additional features and new destinations from Cork Airport. There will be quite a lot of new things for users to look forward to next year,” he added.
The new site was designed by digital design agency Ebow and built by digital consultants Arekibo together with teams from daa’s Communications and IT departments in Cork and Dublin.
