Cork Airport’s Police and Fire Department 2014 Recruits will take part in a charity spin on Sunday March 9 to raise funds for Marymount University Hospice, Cork. The 12 recruits will be spinning a distance of 550km, the same as travelling from Cork Airport to Dublin Airport and back, with some of the distance being done in full fire gear, including breathing apparatus.
Marymount University Hospice is a Specialist Palliative Care Unit, based at St. Patrick’s University Hospital, Cork. In addition to a 24-bed in-patient unit, the hospice offers a dedicated multi-disciplinary team that offers care and support to those patients who choose to be cared for in their own homes. All of the services are provided free of charge to anyone who needs them.
Cork Airport’s charity spinning event will take place in the main terminal from 10am on Sunday, March 9. Donations for this worthy cause can be made through theMyCharity.ie website (link below) and collections will take place in the Cork Airport terminal on the day.
