Aer Lingus Regional Adds Extra Flights From Cork

Aer Lingus Regional is to add extra fligths from Cork Airport as part of  their winter schedule.
 
•      10% expansion of Cork services with additional flights to Manchester and Birmingham
 
•      Additions to Cork network expected to increase passenger numbers by 12,500 over the Winter months
 
Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann, today announced detail of the airline’s Cork winter schedule which includes a 10% expansion of services to Cork with additional flights to Manchester and Birmingham.
 
The additions to the Cork network are expected to increase passenger numbers by 12,500 over the Winter months.
 
The airline will now operate up to three daily return flights to Birmingham and Manchester from Cork Airport. The extra flights have been introduced to allow business passengers day return travel between Cork and two of the UK’s largest regional hubs.
 
Leisure passengers also have more options with increased weekend flights improving connectivity between the cities. Aer Lingus Regional will continue to operate its flights from Cork to Edinburgh, Bristol and Glasgow.
 
The airline recently announced a package of measures to grow passenger numbers in 2014 as part of its ‘new beginning’ strategy.
 
These measures included the expansion of services on the airlines network and the purchase of eight new planes which will be operating on Cork routes early next year.
 
Speaking today, Aer Arann’s Chief Commercial Officer, Simon Fagan said that Cork is a key part of the airlines growth plan and this is reflected in the announcement that the airline plans to increase services to and from Cork Airport.
 
‘We are delighted to announce detail of our Cork winter schedule for Aer Lingus Regional customers today.
 
The additional flights, and expansion of services, are designed to continue to grow the airline and to offer further choice and value for our Cork-based customers.
 
Cork airport is of strategic importance to the  airlines route network and we will be increasing flights and adding new routes from Cork for the summer 2014 season.
 
‘Aer Lingus Regional is committed to providing its customers with easy and convenient regional connectivity and we look forward to welcoming our Cork passengers on board all of our Aer Lingus Regional services this winter,’ Mr Fagan concluded.
